THE REAL THING INDEED, TRUE SCHOOL CALI SOUL IN THE PNW THIS WEEKEND:

Though it's true that our imminent 3-day double bill with true school Cali Soul Artists, Andre Cruz and Chris Lujan will be a spectacular and memorable concert and performance, it's worth noting that in a very deep way, this event is a consecration and commemoration of the current Diamond Age of Soul Music we are living through and specifically the way we interface with #vinylrecords and vinyl culture. It's true that much of the music composed by these artists, as well as the music for the current Funkways set, was written with the intention of committing it to wax and putting our music out there to all the #soul and funk collectors and DJs of today. And I want to thank everyone who has purchased records from us and our respective labels over the years, but also want to encourage you to come out to our #soulcoastshowcase revue, as this might be the last chance in a very long time to feel what it feels like to be actually INSIDE one of your favorite soul 45s. Andre Cruz & Chris Lujan as well as their crew are consummate musicians and performers as well as dynamite recording artists, who, as I understand, didn't intend for this project to actually go out and tour. It was a RECORDING project first, but because of the high demand for their singles (and their just-out LP), and also because their vibrant stage show is just SO entertaining and SO soul-stirring, they have decided to, in their generous way, do the hard thing, the challenging thing, and spend the gas and figure out the logistics to bring their show to us up here in our little corner of the the US. They have been selling out rooms from LA to The Bay and performing with some of the biggest names on the scene today. Let's show them the love, let's show them our appreciation for their contribution to this Diamond Age. And let's make it a sure fire bet that they will keep on bringing THE REAL THING back.
