SATURDAY NIGHT FUNKWAYS! HIGH DIVE, 2-19-22

Hot offa their opening slot for DLO3 at the Crocodile Feb 4th, Joel Ricci’s FUNKWAYS BAND returns Saturday, February 19th, to get cozy and let it all hang out at the High Dive in Fremont but this time inviting two more stellar Seattle horn players and long-time Westsound collaborators: Jason Cressey, and Peter Daniel. In addition to their myriad solo and ensemble projects, they are collectively known as the dynamic duo behind new Seattle funk phenomenon FUTURENOT and have been called by KNKX “Seattle’s hottest horn players”. The added harmonies offer the Funkways band a chance to explore the more complex and horn-centric pieces from the Lucky Mystery Now Orchestra book as well as classics that go as far back as the Lucky Brown’s Space Dream album (which, rumor has it, is enjoying a super deluxe reissue this year). Buy your tickets early so you can have a few dollars left over to pick up some pieces of brand new (and in many cases unreleased elsewhere) vinyl that Joel and Friends have been producing without pause since the first lockdown.
