Just under one year ago I sent a similar message announcing our first vinyl collaboration with Pacific Northwest record label, Wax Thématique: La People b/w Cool Jun by The Lucky Mystery Now Orchestra. One Million Thank Yous to everyone who supported!
Response to that release was swift and thorough and though all copies are now sold out, we are excited to give you our next in the FUNKWAYS series: Another Mother Pt. 1 b/w Pt. 2 GET IT! by the Soul's Path Ensemble. No expense was spared in the preparation and execution of this masterpiece and in addition to it being a part of a greater historical document chronicling authentically the journey of a group of musicians devoted wholly to delivering the Funk Message, it is a regular player and a fine collector's object made by and for people whose hearts beat at 45RPM.
A few words about ANOTHER MOTHER:
Side 1, tiptoeing into the darkened room, is a poky funk tromp fitting for a scooby mystery backing track. Delvon LaMarr's double organ solo soars spookily with drawbars flagrant.
Side 2, Stomps straightaway to dancefloor ground zero (or the middle of your living room as-it-may-be) and keeps a psyche-disco-delic boogie bonfire burning triumphantly for almost 4 and a half minutes! Art Brown casts his souljazz spell with his magic sax while the horn section ululates alongside in funk ecstasy!
Recorded in Olli Klomp's venerable West Seattle living room and treated off-site by recording guru, Jason Gray, the good vibes remain palpable and YOU ARE INVITED INTO THE ROOM with us, the SOUL'S PATH ENSEMBLE! help yourself to snacks over by the kitchen!

Featuring our own DJ Nathan Womack spinnin rare vinyl exhumed from exotic crates to drive the vibe wherever he sees fit in the breaks between and before sets. This is our first performance in public since... well, you know! We want to see you and project our love to you directly!
